What conclusions are you able to draw after categorizing your own group participation in this way? Which is your longest list? Are there similarities amongst the groups on each list? What might someone conclude about you from looking at these lists? 2. Discuss the importance of understanding how a group may change over time. Explain how a newcomer is socialized into a group. Is the socialization process important? In what way(s)? How can poor socialization impact the group process?
